Projects & consulting

Scoped work with a clear start, finish, and estimate.

Some IT work is a project: a migration, a network build, a fleet of computers to replace. You get a plan, an estimate before anything starts, and one person who owns it from kickoff to the follow-up call.

Project work

What gets built and moved.

A representative list of the project and consulting work OK Computer takes on. If what you need is not here, just ask.

  • Email migrations

Moving mail off an old server or host with mailboxes, calendars, and contacts intact, and cutover planned around your workday.

  • New Microsoft 365 tenant setup

A clean tenant built correctly the first time: domains, licensing, users, mail flow, and security settings.

  • Network design and implementation

UniFi networks designed for the building and the business — wired, wireless, and segmented so guests are not on your accounting machine.

  • Surveillance system design and implementation

Camera coverage planned for the space, installed cleanly, and accessible to the people who should see it.

  • Remote access

Secure access to office resources for staff working from home or on the road, without leaving something open to the internet.

  • DNS transfers

Moving domains and DNS records without breaking mail, web, or verification records in the process.

  • Windows upgrades

Version upgrades across a fleet, sequenced so software keeps working and people keep working.

  • Migrating data to a new computer

New machine set up with files, profiles, printers, and applications in place, so day one is a normal day.

And more — just ask. If it involves your computers, network, or Microsoft 365 tenant, start with a phone call.

How projects run

The same four steps every time.

  1. 01

    Scope

A conversation and, when it matters, a look at the site or the tenant. The goal is to understand what success looks like and what constraints exist before anyone quotes a number.

  2. 02

    Estimate

You get an estimate upfront, in plain terms, along with what could change it. Hourly work is billed at the standard remote or on-site rate and tracked closely to the estimate.

  3. 03

    Implementation

The work is scheduled around your business, with cutovers timed to minimize disruption and a fallback plan for the steps that need one.

  4. 04

    Handover

You get documentation of what was built and how it is configured, plus a follow-up to confirm the problem stayed solved.

OK Computer is an IT company based in Oklahoma City. They made transitioning our email servers from Microsoft Exchange to Microsoft 365 an absolute breeze! Craig Cummings’ professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly personality made the process seamless and stress-free. He followed through on every promise, and his communication was excellent throughout. Plus, the price was great. We’ve worked with other IT companies in the past, but none compare to our experience with OK Computer. We highly recommend them to anyone needing IT services in Oklahoma. Thank you, Craig, for going above and beyond!

Because the Internet provider I’m going through does the bare minimum… I called OK Computer in a panic needing business Internet to work asap… Ended up having him set me up for getting lines dropped in with same day service — in fact, it was done within 3 hours! I couldn’t believe it. Please call OK Computer for any of your needs — highly HIGHLY recommend!

I had an excellent experience with Craig as my computer helper. He was incredibly helpful and courteous throughout the process. Craig helped me pick out a new computer and a new monitor, and now with my new setup in my home office, everything is working smoothly… I highly recommend Craig for anyone looking for computer assistance!
